  1. If you are experiencing difficulty running the example videos in Idea Source, be sure to follow the setup guidelines found in the document titled ╥Read before using Idea Source╙.  If you continue to encounter problems running the QuickTime movies and videos, we have provided a backup method to view these movies.  Using the MoviePlayer¬, you can load the movie you wish to watch independently of Idea Source.  Because most load and playback problems with QuickTime movies occur for a variety of different reasons, (i.e. CD-ROM drive speed, available memory, active inits, etc.) we want to assure that you have another option for viewing the demonstrations that Idea Source offers, just in case!

  3. To use the MoviePlayer, simply click and drag a copy of it to your hard drive, then double click the icon.  After the player loads:

  5.     Ñ  Pull down the FILE menu and choose OPEN.
  6.     Ñ  At the open dialog box, click the DESKTOP button and then look for the name of your   
  7.       Dynamic Graphics CD disc in the listing of available drives.  Double click on the CD.
  8.     Ñ  Double click on the IDEA SOURCE folder, and then on the folder titled CAMMOVIES. 
  9.       Inside this folder, you will see sub-folders titled ╥Exclusive Movies╙, ╥Production 
  10.       Movies╙, ╥Software Movies╙, ╥TechAdvice Movies╙ and ╥Techniques Movies╙.
  11.       Double click on the folder of the section you had difficulty with and then choose 
  12.       the name of the movie you want to see.
  13.     Ñ  After the movie loads, click once on the little forward arrow in the lower left of 
  14.       the player screen.  Press the same button to stop the movie or rewind and fast 
  15.       forward using the buttons in the lower right.

  17. AND IF THE MOVIES STILL RUN SLOW?

  19.     Ñ  Copy the movie you want to see to the hard drive and then run it using the 
  20.       MoviePlayer (be sure to check your hard drive for enough free space to hold the 
  21.       movie).

  23.     Ñ    Click once on the MoviePlayer icon that you copied to the hard drive and then 
  24.       choose GET INFO from the FILE menu at your Macintosh¿ desktop.  You will see a 
  25.       section called MEMORY and the SUGGESTED SIZE and CURRENT SIZE, indicating how 
  26.       much memory is allocated to the MoviePlayer.  Double click in the CURRENT SIZE 
  27.       area and enter a higher amount of memory (i.e. if you have 20 MEG of memory, try 
  28.       raising the current size to to 13,000 or 15,000.  You shouldn╒t need more than 
  29.       that!)
